2021-22 Recycling Challenge
Winners Announced!
All schools that receive waste and recycling services through the District contract with Republic Services are automatically registered to compete in the SDUSD Recycling Challenge.
This year's Challenge was points-based. Schools that submitted an on-line Recycling Challenge Award Nomination Form that demonstrated their school's efforts to educate and promote recycling, waste diversion, and/or sustainability efforts on campus received additional points. The Challenge ran from September 2021 - March 1, 2022.

HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORY:
60% Diversion/100 points - $1,250 53% Diversion/81 points - $1,000
MIDDLE SCHOOL CATEGORY:
60% Diversion/92 points - $1,000 60% Diversion/87 points - $750
ELEMENTARY/K-8 CATEGORY:
80% Diversion/99 points - $750 60% Diversion/88 points - $500
MOST IMPROVED CATEGORY:
From 40% to 50% Diversion over the school year - $250
